This is an ongoing list of descendants of James Bowie, FMC and Chaney Bowie. It's the result of a lot of sessions at microfilm readers, mail queries to various government agencies and interviews with parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. I am especially indebted to a few fellow researchers (and cousins!) who have generously shared their research with me:

There are many descendants that remain to be found and included. Of the seven children of James and Chaney, four (Heman, James, Annis and Rufus) have descendants traced to the present day. Despite that, nearly 1600 descendants have been identified.

Stephen, Albert and Parker are not yet represented by living descendants.
